TAFE Gippsland students are a step closer to having a world-class Trade Skills Centre on their doorstep with the Victorian Government appointing a builder for the project.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced the Morwell Trade Centre at TAFE Gippsland will be built by ADCO Constructions.

The Morwell Trade Centre is part of the second stage of the Victorian Government’s $35.5 million Morwell Campus Redevelopment at TAFE Gippsland.

The centre was designed by local architects GHD Woodhead.

The state-of-the-art centre will offer training in electrotechnology, new energy systems, instrumentation and plumbing trade training with specialist workshops, lab facilities and general-purpose classrooms.

The first stage of the campus redevelopment includes the Health and Early Childhood Training Centre, along with specialised health labs and learning spaces as well as general purpose classrooms.

The Morwell Trade Centre is due for completion in late 2021 and will be open to students in January 2022.
