CAREER DEVELOPMENT BOOSTED ACROSS GIPPSLAND
Thursday, 17 December 2020
More than 150 people across Gippsland have boosted their skills and improved their resume through the free online Micro-Credentialing of Enterprise Skills Program, spearheaded by the Latrobe Valley Authority.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today presented certificates to Energy Australia staff based at Yallourn Power Station who completed the Micro-credentialing of Enterprise Skills Program and earned themselves a digital skills profile from the University of Melbourne.
The Latrobe Valley Authority developed the program in partnership with the University of Melbourne and local industry. The program helps local people get the enterprise skills of problem-solving, communication and collaboration recognised by employers.
Energy Australia staff were among over 150 participants who completed a series of self-paced online assessments.
Industry leaders Energy Australia, Latrobe Regional Hospital and TAFE Gippsland were pivotal in developing the program to meet local needs – by ensuring the enterprise skills aligned with what local employers are looking for when recruiting.
Due to the success of the second phase of the program, the Latrobe Valley Authority is currently developing a third phase of the program to be offered in 2021.
