Students at Neerim District Secondary College are a step closer to getting the facilities they need for a great start in life, with an architect and contractor being appointed to design and provide the school’s exciting upgrade.

Member for Eastern Victoria, Harriet Shing MP today announced that Ausco Pty Ltd has been appointed to design the school’s $4,090,000 upgrade.

The upgrade will see a new architect-designed modular building delivered to Neerim District Secondary College. The new building will feature general purpose classrooms, a home economics classroom, student toilets, resource, storage and work areas.

The Andrews Government has invested $6.1 billion to deliver more than 1,400 school upgrades, supporting over 7,500 construction jobs for Victorians.

Under the government’s school building boom, a total of 100 new schools will open by 2026, ensuring every child has a great local school and a great start in life.

This building boom will continue over the coming years, with the Government having appointed builders to start delivering 11 schools across the state that will open in 2020 and 14 schools that will open in 2021.

The Labor Government is building the Education State to ensure that every student can access a great local school and get a quality education.
