MAKING THE WARBURTON HIGHWAY SAFER FOR EVERYONE

Thursday, 5 March 2020

Drivers on the Warburton Highway in Seville will be much safer driving in both regular and difficult conditions, thanks to a range of upgrades made by the Andrews Labor Government.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced a raft of improvements have been completed, including adding reflective road tiling and markings, while also installing guideposts which will boost safety for all road users.

Reflective road markings have been added over a 1.7km kilometre section of Warburton Highway in Seville East, to increase driver’s awareness of upcoming side roads and other potential hazards.

On top of this, guideposts have also been installed along the same section of highway, in order to alert drivers and improve visibility.

Both upgrades will also reduce the risk of run off road crashes and head on collisions, which are the type of accidents that are the most likely to cause fatalities and serious injuries.

Works began in late January and were completed in early February.
