CONSTUCTION ABOUT TO START ON CHURCHILL PRIMARY SCHOOL UPGRADE

Friday, 20 October 2017

Students at Churchill Primary School are a step closer to having the facilities they deserve, with construction on a $299,000 upgrade due to get underway shortly.

Member for Eastern Victoria Region, Harriet Shing, today announced that Johns Lyng Commercial Builders, Latrobe Valley has been awarded the construction contract, with work to get underway within the next two weeks.

The $299,000 project includes maintenance of stormwater infrastructure and construction of new synthetic turf basketball and netball courts.

The Andrews Labor Government is building the Education State so that every Victorian student gets the opportunity for a great education and every community has access to a great school.

The project is part of a $2.5 billion investment by the Labor Government to improve classrooms, upgrade facilities and build new schools across the state.

This school building boom has created more than 1,000 school upgrades and 56 new school projects across the state, supporting almost 5000 construction jobs to ensure all Victorian families have access to a great school no matter where they live.
