BOOSTING OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY HALLS
Friday, 28 June 2019
Gippsland’s local community halls will be able to host more events and attract people to the region, thanks to a major refurbishment of the Bundalaguah & Myrtlebank Hall from the Labor Government.
Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today announced a $239,000 grant for Bundalaguah & Myrtlebank Hall from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund towards its major refurbishment project.
The extensive upgrades at the hall will help attract higher-profile events and live music performances, as well as providing better facilities for the hall to host private events like birthday parties and weddings.
Ms Shing made the announcement while visiting the completed upgrades at Heyfield Memorial Hall today, which was made possible by almost $42,000 from the Labor Government to upgrade acoustics, making it a suitable venue for live music and performances.
Earlier today, Ms Shing also officially re-opened Newry Hall by way of a plaque unveiling, following an extensive refurbishment project supported by a $224,774 grant from the Labor Government
Heyfield Memorial Hall, Bundalaguah Hall and Newry Hall are working together to attract high profile performances and events to the region, with all three now having received funding from the Latrobe Valley Authority’s Community and Facility Fund for upgrade works.
