PRESERVING MORWELL’S LOCAL HISTORY

Monday 28th September 2020

Community groups across Victoria are being recognised for preserving, recording and sharing their community’s local history.

Member for Eastern Victoria Harriet Shing today congratulated the Morwell Cricket Club for receiving funding as part of the Victorian Government’s Local History Grants Program.

The Morwell Cricket Club received $915 to go towards their efforts in shining the spotlight on Morwell’s rich and diverse history.

The funding aims to allow the Morwell Cricket Club to have numerous and editable records displayed for public viewing on a special purpose TV using a specific sporting club historical records display program.

They are among 53 community groups across Victoria sharing in $350,000 as part of the 2020 round of Local History Grants.
